Frequently Asked Questions

A public adjuster is a licensed professional who represents the insurance policyholder in the event of serious property damage to the policyholder’s home or business. If you have experienced property damage, your public adjuster at OnPoint Claim Recovery will help alleviate your stress and save you valuable time by acting on your behalf to navigate the claims recovery process with your insurance company. This includes gathering information, reviewing your policy to determine coverage, meeting with appraisers, evaluating and estimating your losses, preparing your claim, communicating with your insurance company, and negotiating a settlement that reflects your best interests.

We serve Southeast Texas and the Greater Houston area, including the communities of Houston, Katy, Richmond, Sugar Land, Pearland, Pasadena, Spring, Conroe, The Woodlands, Tomball, Humble, Cypress, League City, Missouri City, Galveston, Texas City, and Baytown.

Your insurance company can’t cancel your policy simply because you hire a public adjuster. They can only cancel your policy for nonpayment, fraud, or another legitimate reason, but they can decide not to renew your policy for any reason.

That depends on what your insurance policy covers. If your policy provides coverage for additional living expenses, then yes, you would be able to recover these expenses. If your policy doesn’t provide this coverage, then no, you would not be able to recover these expenses.

No, we don’t collect any fees from you until we settle your claim and your insurance company sends a check.

If negotiations fail and your insurance company refuses to pay enough to cover your losses, you have two options. Both of these options are outside of the scope of our services and involve additional costs because other parties will need to be brought in to help reach an agreement.

Your two options are:

Demanded Appraisal

If the insurance company agrees to pay your claim, but they disagree with you on the amount, you have the legal right to request a Demanded Appraisal. During this process, you and your insurance company will each choose an appraiser, and the appraisers will choose an impartial umpire. If the appraisers cannot reach an agreement on the amount of your loss, the umpire will step in and make a decision. This is a legally binding decision that cannot be contested.

Litigation

Litigation may be an option for you if your insurance company completely denies your claim and refuses to pay anything. If this happens, we can connect you with an attorney to help you with the process of recovering damages.

If you have experienced property damage, you don’t have to accept what your insurance company offers you. Contact us today to see how we can help you get a better settlement.

When your insurance company’s representative works on your property damage claim, the primary goal for that representative is to work in the best interest of the insurance company. This may mean that they offer you a lower amount than you need to fully recover from your losses. Your insurance representative does not work for you and isn’t interested in getting you the best settlement possible. When you hire an OnPoint Claim Recovery public adjuster, you are hiring a licensed expert who works exclusively for you to help you reach a settlement that will completely cover your losses so you can repair or rebuild your home or business.

If you haven’t signed a full and final release, then no, it’s not too late to hire a public adjuster. We may still be able to recover the additional funds needed to cover your losses. Contact us today to see how we can help you recover your claim.

No, your insurance premiums won’t go up because you hire OnPoint Claim Recovery, but rates typically increase every year anyway, so your rates may increase for that reason.

A public adjuster represents the policyholder and works toward a solution that is in the best interest of the policyholder. An independent adjuster represents the insurance company and works toward a solution that is in the best interest of the insurance company.

We charge 10% of your settlement amount for our services, and we work on a contingency basis, so we only collect a fee if we make a successful recovery on your claim. Our clients recover an average of 575% more than their insurance companies originally offer for their settlements.

If your policy includes business interruption insurance, then your insurance company should cover your losses if you are temporarily unable to do business due to property damage. When you work with us, we will carefully study your insurance policy to determine what it covers.

Every claim is different, and many factors can influence the length of time it takes to recover damages. This may include the length of time the insurance company takes to complete their responsibilities, when inspections can be scheduled, and how long it takes to prepare an inventory of your belongings.

Here is what people are saying about
OnPoint Claim Recovery.

“I wanted to write this letter of recommendation for OnPoint Claim Recovery after you have provided such great results for my family. As if going through a tornado that destroyed most of the houses on our street wasn’t enough, it didn’t take long to realize that the fight with insurance would be that much worse.

Once you came on board to help us, we consistently saw progress with the insurance company. You were able to get us recovery we needed to fully restore our property. Perhaps even more valuable was the face that you shielded my wife and me from the constant, many months-long headache in dealing with the stubborn insurance company.

I fully recommend you and your company to help families like mine restore damaged property with the rightful insurance coverage for which we have been paying. Thanks again!”
